A former teacher at an Ocean County academy admitted to having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a student five years ago, authorities said.
Douglas Bollinger, 57, of Neptune City, pleaded guilty to Monday to endangering the welfare of a child, according to a news release from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.
Detectives learned that between February and August 2019, Bollinger, while working as a teacher Ocean County Vocational Technical School Performing Arts Academy, had sexual contact with a female student in Point Pleasant Beach and Asbury Park, authorities said.
Bollinger was arrested without incident on Aug. 15. by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force at his residence, it was stated in a news release. He was later transported to the Ocean County Jail and released pending court appearances.
His sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 10 where he is expected to receive a sentence of parole supervision for life and will be prohibited from having any contact with his victim and forfeit any future public employment and teaching certifications in New Jersey, according to a news release.
